Breaking news…our new Programme Event Brochure is now available. We hope that you like the new format – it is designed as an A3 flier that folds into a leaflet, so that all the events are on one A3 sheet, which can be put on a notice board. Many thanks to Mike, our designer, for reworking it so well and for keeping the characteristics and feel of the old-style brochure. If you would like copies to be sent to you, we will be sending out a mail shot around 19th-20th October, so please get in touch on email@example.com and we can send you some copies. Click on the button the home page to see the new brochure.
Warden Jane Easterby has recently been recommended to train for ordination in the Newcastle Diocese. Jane will study part-time with the Lindisfarne Regional Training Partnership, whilst working full time as Warden. It is envisaged that she will continue as Warden for the foreseeable future as a Minister in Secular Employment after ordination. Jane is thrilled and excited and is looking forward very much to starting her training in September.
Congratulations to Riding Mill Priest-in-charge Revd Lesley Chapman who has been given the additional responsibility of Area Dean for the Corbridge Deanery. We wish Lesley every blessing in her ministry.
The Bishop has announced that the next Priest in Charge at Riding Mill, and the Bishop’s Adviser for Spirituality and Spiritual Direction will be the Revd Lesley Chapman.
Lesley is currently Priest in Charge of The Ascension, Kenton in Newcastle.
Lesley and her husband Stan will be moving into the vicarage in the summer and are very much looking forward to living and working here in the Tyne Valley.
Lesley has sent the following message:
“Please let the congregation at St James, Riding Mill know that I am delighted to have been appointed as your priest and that I am looking forward to working with you all. You can be sure of my prayers in the coming weeks and I hope you will hold us in your prayers as Stan and I organise our move to Riding Mill. Please pray for the congregation at The Ascension also as we prepare to leave.”
